Welcome to the Picture it & Write creative writing exercise. I invite people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook and Pinterest.
Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.
Plop plop. Two onions drop into my martini, splashing the vodka over the side. I turn and bob my head to the nnt nnt nnt nnt of the music blasting through the speakers. My long red fingernail taps out a beat against the glass adding a clink to the club mix. My subjects dance ans grind against one another. The air is thick with sweat. My fangs glint in the moonlight as I smile down at them. Machiavelli may think “it is better to be feared than loved,” but I’ve found a way to be both.

“All Men are bastards” My Aunt Flo told me, dropping a final icecube into her overflowing drink, making it spill down the cocktail glass and onto the table-top, “Since you’re going to be a man soon nephew, I had better warn you that soon enough you will turn into a bastard too.”
“I’m not a bastard!” I protested, “I love you Aunt Flo”
“Hmmmph!” She snorted “They always say that at first, tell me they love me more than anything else. And what do the do? Leave me for someone younger, someone prettier.”
“I’ll never leave you Aunt Flo. You’ll always have me.”
“You’re a sweet child.” She said, steadying a hand on my shoulder “I don’t want you to go either. Here!” She offered me her glass “Take a drink!”
I took a sip of the clear liquid and almost gagged, it was stronger than anything I had already tasted.
“Strong stuff isn’t it?” She said, her face starting to blurr in my vision. I found I couldn’t lift my arms. My eyes were getting heavier and heavier.
My last vision was Aunt Flo, looming over me, a sick, determined grin on her face.
As I slipped into unconsciousness the last thing I heard was her saying “All men are bastards, but boys are sweet. I’ll NEVER let you become a man.”
