Picture it & Write just celebrated it’s 2 year anniversary! We can hardly believe it ourselves. Thank you to everyone who has been with us during this adventure; there’s plenty more to come!
Last year, we collected Picture it & Write submissions for an anthology publication. We’re very sorry for the wait, but we’ve run into several time consuming hiccups that need to be addressed. Because of this, we will not be collecting submissions this year. We want to work any kinks out of the process before attempting a second publication. However, for those who have been patiently waiting to see if their work was included, I have good news! Though we aren’t ready to tell you which pieces were chosen, we’re releasing a list of the contributors. If you’re on the list, at least one of your submissions has made it into the publication.

I’ve been so in love with this prompt. I’ve seen dozens of others, and even participated in a few of them, but this is the only one that ever spoke to my heart.
My love may have started with a misguided pet peeve about WordPress calling themselves “Word”Press when they shamelessly tell you they won’t “press” you unless you have pictures (which must be original or credited regardless). Change your name to PhotoPress or get of my back. Just sayin’.
What it comes down to is that whether we are talking about a picture or a thousand words, the impressions are as many and varied as the number of viewers/writers/readers.This has always been both the beauty of reading the contributions to this prompt and the joy of writing them: that there isn’t a write or wrong… and that a picture is worth exactly as many words as the sum of us are willing to pull out a pen and share.
Forever honored that you accepted me.
Ermilia said:
I didn’t know that about getting “pressed.” I doubt we ever will, but that hasn’t stopped us from making many friends along the way. Thank you for being a constant companion and taking the time to read and comment on so many of the contributions.

One of my favorite things about it is that published authors and indie up and commers have gotten together to support a cause. So excited to see progress.
