Well this is embarrassing. Please forgive my tardiness, we work very hard to schedule posts but I’ve been very sick this past week and was back at the doctor’s office getting a second round of antibiotics when I’d planned on writing this post. They should resume their normally scheduled time next week. My sincerest apologies.
I invite people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook and Pinterest.

Great to see an independent princess. I never understood the first born rule. Who cares which boy came out of the womb first, maybe she’d have liked a younger sibling better, one who didn’t grow up thinking he was high man on the totem pole.

I like the dreamland impression. The first thing I thought of was Susie’s gazebo in Lovely Bones… so that’s kind of dreamy. Your references to classic Verne and Melville quickly made it feel a bit like Wynken Blynken and Nod, but this is the image you put in my head!

I like the idea of the bed being an island. Somehow it makes me think of Lord of the Flies.

The head of security and chief usher looked at the scene. They were both silent, bereft of words to say until the usher came out with, “I can understand the sleepwalking but how did she get the bed out there?”

Awe, congrats to your friends! I’d love sleeping in that bed, but I wouldn’t be comfortable… doing anything else there if ya know what I mean. Too public even with the curtains drawn.
