Well this is embarrassing. Please forgive my tardiness, we work very hard to schedule posts but I’ve been very sick this past week and was back at the doctor’s office getting a second round of antibiotics when I’d planned on writing this post. They should resume their normally scheduled time next week. My sincerest apologies.
I invite people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook and Pinterest.
Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.
I’m very sorry but in order to continue to help Ermisenda add new and engaging content consistently, I may be unable to reply to every contribution. This has become so popular that I’m just unable to keep up. Thank you for understanding.
You cannot get me here. I am safe in my dreamland for I fought bravely many years and night mares are now extinct. Your pop quizzes are no match! I am the captain of the Nautilus and the Pequod. When The Nothing comes to get me, I step inside my blue police box and hunt down Carmen Sandiego. You cannot catch me. When your pincers or tentacles grope for me, I sprout wings. I drift in restful slumber, queen of my domain. You cannot get me here.

This is a fun picture. It got us back on track with a segment of a scenario that we’re currently working on.

Love it! We need more “not so distressed” damsels in literature. I love that she kicked him in the family jewels. I didn’t have a chance to read what came before this, but I’m sure he deserved it.

I love the Jane Austen quote at the top. Looking forward to reading the new blog! Did you drop the other one or separate them out? We’re honored you chose this to be your first post.

I still have the other blog, but wanted a new one to fit other interests away from my poetry writing and erotica. I love Jane Austen and the quote.

Great to see an independent princess. I never understood the first born rule. Who cares which boy came out of the womb first, maybe she’d have liked a younger sibling better, one who didn’t grow up thinking he was high man on the totem pole.

This worked in my little mash-up: http://starvingactivist.wordpress.com/2013/07/21/saturday-centus-170-meets-picture-it-write-21-july-2013-it-begins-and-ends-with-a-song/

First, thank you so much for getting that song stuck in my head lol. I need my book worm friends to move back close to me so I can swipe books on my TBR list from them.
I liked the unforseen consequence of going to bed. No one thinks they’ll wake up in a pond.
PS I really want that bed.

How precious. 🙂

I like the dreamland impression. The first thing I thought of was Susie’s gazebo in Lovely Bones… so that’s kind of dreamy. Your references to classic Verne and Melville quickly made it feel a bit like Wynken Blynken and Nod, but this is the image you put in my head!
Here’s The Kissing Booth, which has nothing to do with a bed, but it’s what I felt inspired to write.

This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read. You just made my week.

I like the idea of the bed being an island. Somehow it makes me think of Lord of the Flies.

Sorry, no computer with me so I can’t write much.
The head of security and chief usher looked at the scene. They were both silent, bereft of words to say until the usher came out with, “I can understand the sleepwalking but how did she get the bed out there?”

they both stood and stared at the bed
while the chief usher scratched at his head
“the thing to consider
is how did it git there?”
agreed the security head

Hahahaha sleep bed-dragging? Thanks for participating even without a computer! Gold star for you. Someday I want to gamify Picture it & Write so you get badges for stuff. How cool would that be?

I loved the dark edge of your dreamland.
Here’s mine

I am feeling much better, thank you.
Awe, congrats to your friends! I’d love sleeping in that bed, but I wouldn’t be comfortable… doing anything else there if ya know what I mean. Too public even with the curtains drawn.

Here is my contribution to this weeks’ picture it and write. Although there is no “adult content” per se, this is quite a dark tale, with a little hidden inuendo, and therefore I suggest it should be read by 16 years plus.
