Picture it & Write is a weekly creative writing prompt. We invite people to join in by commenting with a work of fiction to accompany the image; it doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation).

Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.

“How come you get all that room, just the two of you. We are crammed in here like sardines.”

“Because we contour cheeks and she doesn’t care about you. Her glasses hide the eye shadow.”

“Shows what you know,” the cotton swabs called down. “She just got contacts.”

Picture it & Write now supports The Girl Effect, a movement empowering girls to break the cycle of poverty in their communities, countries, and world. All profits from the publication are donated to this cause. Everyone is welcome to use the button, just link them back to the Picture it & Write category or Ermiliablog! :) Share your love for Picture it & write on your blog with the image below. Look out at the world. What do you see? Do you see beauty or do you see heartache? I used to stare out the window and imagine my favorite cartoon characters running beside the car. They would dive into the earth and jump back out as concrete medians broke up the grass. When dressed up in frilly tutus, I wondered if people wondered where I was going dressed like that. Some people look at hedgehogs and draw little faces on scraps of paper. They doodle on post-its and hold them up on the subway. We each see the world through a unique perspective.

I don’t know who started the war. Someone pissed someone else off and within weeks there were guns loaded and bombs created. My people claim that the others threw shot the first bullet, that they threw the first bomb. We believe that our part in the war continues to only be in defense. I don’t believe it. They are not the only ones with too much innocent blood on their hands. We’re all monsters now.

“I hate them.” The first sister growled.

“Do not let them get to you. They are only stupid teenagers.” The second sister caressed her faded wreath.

“They are obnoxiously loud. Their feet tear up the soil as they stomp.”

“Patience,” the second sister wrapped her arms around her sisters. “They will explore the caves. And we will wait for them.”

The third sister hissed. Her eyes opened and she absorbed the light until it was pitch black. They waited.

Ever wondered what character you were from Harry Potter according to the Myers-Briggs personality test? Well here you have a great piece of artwork by Makani. As an INTJ/ENTJ I’m Draco and/or James Potter. It doesn’t really shed that much more about my personality but hey! it was fun.

Who are you? Share below. 🙂 Take the Myers-Briggs test to find out!

blogs, countries, maps, pictures, views

WordPress has recently started giving us country information with the other stats we get about which posts are getting the most views.  To say we were startled by some of the countries is a vast understatement!  Mauritius is actually 7th on our all time highest views by country, right between India and Kuwait. I wanted to see if you guys would tell us where you’re from.

If you’re from somewhere exotic, or even if you’re not and you just want to tell us about where you live, leave us a comment so we can officially thank you for hanging out with us from whatever part of the world you’re in.

I’ll start! I’m Eliabeth and I’m from Texas.  I don’t wear spurs or ride a horse to work, but I have seen tumbleweed and been in a wicked sandstorm in West Texas before.

-Eliabeth

Update: Hey everyone from India, Hong Kong, and the UK, you’re trouncing Australia today 😉
