Welcome to the Picture it & Write creative writing exercise. I invite people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook and Pinterest.
Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.
Didn’t flush.
My hand retracted from the stall door as instead of yellow water and brown goop, I’d found a snake inside the bathroom stall. Hopeful, I pushed on the next stall, thankful that there wasn’t a line of people behind me.
Gross!
Someone’s mother hadn’t taught them the proper way to dispose of feminine products. The smell was enough to make bile rise up to the back of my throat. Never mind the site of the products spilling out of the metal bin.
Is it not someone’s job to clean those out? What an awful job. No matter how bad my life gets, at least it won’t be my job to clean no toilet paper.
The last thing I needed was to be stuck on the toilet until someone came by to slide toilet paper to me under the stall or awkwardly try to shimmy in a crouched position with my pants around my ankles to another stall with toilet paper.
Four stalls later, I found one with the paper seat cover, toilet paper, and nothing in the bowl. I was ready to burst. After that, I thought all would be well. My days as Goldilocks looking for just right would be over.
No soap.
