Welcome to the Picture it & Write creative writing exercise. I invite people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook and Pinterest.

Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.

“Here ye here ye good people. The King invites you into the castle.” A beer-bellied man shouted down at us. I glanced nervously at my friend, afraid we… I would not fit in. She had her princess gown on, complete with corset, dangling arm things I didn’t know where a thing, elf ears, and a cape. Her friend wore entente, wings, a corset, and a tutu yet I was the one who felt out of place.

You might have seen these ‘heart-breaking six word stories’ already but I had to share them in case you hadn’t. Here are my favourite ones. These tiny sentences could inspire some amazing stories. Which one do you like the best? Here’s the link to all 20. – Ermisenda a_407_20140429132016 a_407_20140429132032.png a_407_20140429132419.png Continue reading →

I think as writers we can get protective over our story ideas. And that’s fair. After all, creating an imaginative, unique story is often a core part of making a successful story that people want to read because its different. But what happens when you have so many story ideas that you know you won’t be able to turn them all into stories? Well, I’m going to share some of mine!

So some of my story ideas (characters, settings, inspirational lines of thoughts) that I have written on my electronic post-it notes include:
– Writing a modern-day story based on a fairytale
– Writing a fantasy novel with hugggeee powerful snakes instead of dragons
– Including a prominent character with a lisp
– Comparing character personalities/beauties to planets and moons

I also decided to take the opportunity to finally attempt a YouTube video to add an extra something-something on my behalf for Ermilia. Let me know what you think. 🙂 Hopefully I’ll get better at the camera focus stuff and learning to refrain from using repetitive phrases. 😛 It’s not easy!

Lost Generation

I’m a part of Lost Generation

and I refuse to believe that

I can change the world

I realize this may be a shock but

“Happiness comes from within”

is a lie, and

“Money will make me happy”

So in thirty years I’ll tell my children

They are not the most important thing in my life Continue reading →

To and fro we danced. Sensual twirls, abrupt dives. It was easy at first. The ground was arid like a desert, my toes dry. With each lock of our gazes, I found myself closer to him. My eyes lost their flirtatious flutter, I tugged to free myself. While his firm was gentle, a strength that intimidated me lay quietly beneath the surface. I despised him. The two of us could never work. From the frantic and energetic moves we started from, we had surrendered to rhythmic swaying. The tension dissipated as waves of chemistry swirled around us. His body molded around mine. We were alone in an ocean of intimacy; wet fingers touching, moist tongues. I felt safe. My leg encircled him, ripples of pleasure ran up my thighs. They often say love and lust are enemies, but why not lovers?

Listen & Write – One – Apocalyptica

Listen & Write is a spin off of Picture it & Write and works almost identically.  Eliabeth will post a song and accompanying text.  We then invite you to either continue where she leaves off or create your own piece of fiction or poetry based on the music.  You might imagine your own version of a music video or write about someone listening to the song; you are only limited by your imagination.  Other languages are welcome so long as you add a translation.

If you have a suggestion for a song, leave it in the comment along with your contribution and they’ll be worked in to the line-up.  Due to time constraints, this will now be a monthly post, showing up the first Thursday of every month minimum.  Some months may have additional posts, but we’ll just see how it goes.

One by Apocalyptica

Orch Dork. Cello is for losers.  Their taunts burrowed into me thicker than a knife.  Cuts healed, memories did not.  I would show them, I would show them all.  I knew my dad had a gun in the house for protection, well this counted.  I wasn’t going to take their bullying any more.

The next day I took it to school.  My heart was going a million miles and hour.  I wasn’t going to kill them, just maim them a little, show them the kind of pain that they’d been inflicting on me for years.  not everyone is an athlete, not everyone has to be.  That’s not a reason to torment them.  Now they would see, now they would feel my pain.

I felt a shove from behind and my books went flying.  “Cluts,” they teased.  This was it, I reached for my bag and I pulled it out.  My hands trembled.  I aimed right for their chest knowing that I would miss.  I had never shot a gun before, what was the chance of me actually killing someone.  I didn’t remember what happened next; everything was a blur.  People were running, screaming.  I closed my eyes.

Bang.
