Picture it & Write is a weekly creative writing prompt. We invite people to join in by commenting with a work of fiction to accompany the image; it doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation).
Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.
I stand at a precipice, frozen. I’ve spent my life walking through life, tilted backwards. Instead of acting, I am pulled along. I resist. Pressures all around me, push and pull. I stay in jobs I hate. I only went to college because my parents made me. If I was running a 5K, I’d be that person whose dog is doing all of the work for them. But that is not what people see. People see me standing straight. I am at the top of a platform, victorious. They do not see my struggles. I only let them see my successes.

Beautifully said. Sounds exactly like me too! 🙂
Pingback: PICTURE IT AND WRITE ~ A VERY FINE BALANCE | johnandmargaret1607
Bobby felt himself starting to shift to the edge of the step. Almost losing his balance he had to place his feet on the edge and shift precariously on the sharp angle. He took out his phone, dialled quickly and spoke into the receiver, “Johnston! What did I tell you about messing the with the gravity field? Cut it out!”
🙂 That Johnston. Bobby could be falling up!

Kind of like being inside an M.C. Escher lithograph, John. Are we really sure the fall will come?

Love those pingbacks.
Er
I really like the way you used the shadow as an illustration of what people see vs what is there, Eliabeth.
Inspiring. Here is my offering

I cant help but notice Ermisenda Alvarez’s absence. I heard she was sick. How is she?
Hey Suganiya. Ermisenda here. Yes I was sick, but after 6 months of chemo, the cancer is gone. I’ve been recovering and just hoping it doesn’t come back. Unfortunately, we haven’t had the time to add new content to the blog as our lives seem to have taken a sharp turn and if we give Ermilia time – we want it to be in the form of writing more of our books. Thanks for the comment and your concern! How are you doing?
I am so glad to hear that you are well. Please continue getting better. 🙂
Ps. I am all good, thank you
