I urge people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (provide a translation please ). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook and Pinterest.
Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.
He insists on holding my hand all the way. I hold tight.
“Where are we going?”
He throws me a smile over his shoulder but doesn’t respond. I watch my feet, making sure I don’t trip on the rocky path. He stops without warning and turns around. He cradles my face and kisses me deeply. When he pulls away, I take a deep breath.
“Are we there?” I ask with a smile. There are butterflies in my stomach.
“Not yet.” He takes me by the hand again and keeps walking.

Yikes! So sinister. Thanks for contributing!
Might be good, but could be ominous…
I wanted to leave the tone open. Thanks for the comment!

How long does this trail go and why is he leading me by the hand? How long will he keep that up? Our young loves flame burns bright but how much oil do we have and will it last the night? Who cares? These fields and mountain crags are beautiful and rugged. Hearty grass grows here along this deer path that must lead somewhere. Hopefully to a nook in the hills where we can lay all day shielded from the wind and biting cold. In the dirt, hearing not a single modern sound, resting in warmth and in peace, that is all I could ever want but time says we cannot sit here sheltered forever. But for now, it’s alright.
Nicely written. It’s sometimes nice to make a journey without caring about the destination.
I really like this line “Our young loves flame burns bright but how much oil do we have and will it last the night?” Thanks for contributing!
I’ve not done one of these in a while. Mine is here.

I’m glad to see another contribution from you. I really liked the couple’s chemistry. The way you ended the story with the Picture it & Write image was perfect.
As I walk the long road of life
Through the hills of becoming
Up the mountains of adversity
Past the shear cliffs of tragedy
When the path gets rocky
When it seems that it is uphill all the way
I know that I will be able to keep going
Because you will be right there behind me
Supporting me all the way
Sweet poem, Joe.
She was lost in the land of dreams, alone walking among the mountains of lost hopes and long forgotten dreams, lonely as she was, lost ,looking around, suddenly a handsome stranger came near ,grabbed her hand and without a word led her ,lost as she was she followed, just trusting his warm grasp that he is leading her to the safety she is craving, before reaching their destination ,she woke up from the lonely dream, still feeling the touch of his warm safe palm.
I love how she woke up but could still feel his warm touch. You captured that moment so well, Yassmin.
Glad you liked it 🙂

Glad to have you back this week! A nice lighthearted tale with a good splash of humour. People ALWAYS stereotype dragons as monsters who want to eat humans. 😛 They’re not all alike.
