One of my coworkers found a post on Facebook that had us practically rolling on the floor laughing. For whatever reason, it was taken down. Essentially, it went something like this….
Man ruins Game of Thrones with series of novels full of spoilers.
He does look kind of devious doesn’t he?
-Eliabeth
Who is reading it and who is watching it? Anyone doing both?
I’m doing both! I have the first four books. I’ve read two, and I’m a little past halfway through the third. They’re hulks, though! Over 1200 pages in the current book! I love reading first, then watching (so I know all the unspoken/unshown details) but my adult life responsibilities have kept me from catching up with the show! So I’m trying (and failing) to avoid spoilers until I can at least finish the third book before watching the tv show’s fourth season.
Stick it back up!
I’m enjoying the TV series, but getting tired of the standard device used to stop any story thread actually getting anywhere. I call it ‘the ten-mile rule’, and basically it’s this:
A & B set out to get somewhere; ten miles down the road, C arrives with a bunch of armed riders, and drags them off at 90 degrees.
Okay it’s not always a journey and riders, but you get my drift. Also, there are so many characters and story threads I can never remember who’s who, where’s where, and where any who is at the moment. I refuse to become a total Thronie and learn all the names – I am sure there are some Thronies out there who actually do converse in Dothraki, or Valyrian, or whatever.
Oh yeah, and Winter Is SO Last Season, dear… 😉
I have been listening to the audio books for the past few months. That said the series already starting to change from the core novel in several big ways.
hahahahahha. this made me laugh!
I read all the books available and now i’m watching the 4th season… i’m glad i read the books first! so no spoilers for me, haha
