“If you ever feel alone and scared, just look up at the sky. Know that I am staring at the same beautiful moon as you are, and only distance separates us,” she had whispered into my skin days ago.
With beads of sweat running down my face, I ran outside. The cold wind tore through my clothes. I looked up, desperate to feel connected to her. When I saw the moon, I flinched. It was blood red.
“They know…” I gasped.

I like the cyclical nature of the poem. Thanks for contributing this week!

Enjoyed your take on this here…
This picture does induce a certain passion in the vibrancy of that warm and comforting red… I also was a bit captivated in the romantic overtone… My contribution this day… “Seeing Red”

I really liked how you described each characteristic of her in relation to red, and then talking about how every time you see a red-head or glass of red wine, you’re reminded. It’s funny how we remember certain features of people and then the smallest of things brings them back to our minds. Great piece, Joseph. Also, red is my favourite colour too. 🙂

It was my dramatic touch. 😛
I liked this part – “Still under the light of Flare it would drown out this ruddy hue in it’s own ghostly brilliance. Brighter but still cold and unforgiving.” I liked how you didn’t just say when it lost its red hue, it was a sign of hope (or something). But that it was still cold and unforgiving. Very cool, Joe!

I hope the intruder was a vampire, if not those garlics won’t do much! I love the suspense and thriller-ish elements you included in this piece. 🙂

I loved how you continued from my piece. I always find it exciting when people do chain stories, I’ve been thinking of making a little exercise on Ermilia where people HAVE to continue the story on. I really liked the dark prophecy theme that was running through this. It seems to me like you have the beginning to inspire you to make a novel with all this talk of prophecy, love, tragedy, and betrayal. 😀

In case, you don’t come back to my blog.
Thanks and you should!! I tried to create a challenge like that before but nobody entered it 😦 I think if people like PI&W then they might like this too!! So go for it! 🙂

I liked this – “The blue planet becomes red with the fires of freedom.” The use of colour was creative when you were comparing it to creativity and thought. 🙂 Thanks for contributing this week!

Ooh, I love the La Misma Luna connection! I wish you’d written more to this idea.
My second impression of this picture was silly and it took some work and a crazy dream to help me avoid sacrilege. Here’s Private Eyes.

Bahahahaha – ““Private Investigative Services, Scanlon,” I said, grimacing at the acronym it spelled out in my head.” Absolutely loved that line. 😀 My image of her in my head was terrifying. I really dislike those dolls with huge heads that are meant to be both childlike and super sexual. Gives me the heeby-geebies.

Yikes. Did she die at the end? I really liked this line, “The only instructions given were to seek darkness and avoid the light, no further details provided.” It was just so different. Normally stories talk about ‘finding the light’ but I like how you flipped it around. Cool story, Sam!
