Welcome to the Picture it & Write creative writing exercise. I invite people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook and Pinterest.
Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.

Excuse me while I sob over spoilers. Why do people like to ruin stories? Tales are sacred, be they fantasy or mystery. If I could have a super power, it would not be to see the future. Don’t tell me who done it. Don’t tell me who dies. Don’t you know that when you do a fairy loses her wings and I lose a part of my soul? I feel my throat closing up. The world goes dark.

And when she emerged, the sky turned grey, the ground shook, and lake of fire froze.
On her journey back home, she encountered yet another mystic.
“I have only words of wisdom,” the mystic said. “From this moment to the day you die, you shall not feel empathy, you shall not feel love, and you shall not feel happiness; but only a faint tug in the chest with every soul you send to hell.
You are prohibited from making any compromises with mortals and if it is discovered that you have the lake of fire will be reborn with fresh molten flames that will slowly lick your flesh until the end of time.”
The queen bowed to the mystic before it disappeared. She drew the hood over her head and made her way across the wastelands to the deep forest of Higher Glen.
I’m guessing that deal will be difficult to keep! Good piece!
Love the focused view you created of this picture in the emergence and elements of discovery described… a powerful entrance to the Mystic’s advice and warnings…
Great surreal work~~Loved it~
Thank you.
Tough assignment!

A powerful rendition here… and wouldn’t it be nice to “just be” and not have that angst and sometimes consuming thought to take us away from that which is life in the moment… Very thought provoking this day Eliabeth
Here’s my prose for this week and I would add here, that mine is based on that which has passed for the moment…

Wow! This just looked like another pic, until I accidentally saw the word “spoilers” in your comment. So strange… I don’t have time to write now, but I will, no matter how long it takes. Funny thing is: it has nothing, and everything, to do with spoilers…
I just saw Divergent and I won’t spoil anything about that. I loved it! I would probably hate the books as much as I hated the first 7 minutes of the movie! I won’t spoil why.
The important part of all that was in the Before the Movie stuff. There was a Netflix ad I’m sure a lot of you have seen about the girl who spoils everything. “Don’t be that girl!” Haha, I couldn’t help thinking of her when I read your contribution, Elia.
Fabulous!
Your comment had me worried that we’d already used this image. We save them up and sometimes I forget to delete ones I’ve used but I went through the Pinterest gallery and didn’t see it lol.
Actually, this was partially inspired by Divergent. I’ve read the first book and someone told me how book 3 ends. I did sorta ask for it because I hate not knowing things. I plan on seeing the movie with my roommates soon.
Thanks for your comment, Anne.
I’m sorry. I didn’t mean there was anything wrong with the picture, just that ideas usually pop into my head instantly and this time I drew a blank until I read your comment.

Unfortunately, i have developed something of a reputation for coming out wuth spoilers. Never on purpose mind but often a case of speaking before thinking. Anyway here’s mine for this week. http://joe2stories.wordpress.com/2014/03/30/picture-it-and-write-step/
