I invite people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (please provide a translation). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook and Pinterest.
Please continue to write however you’re inspired, but add a tag to the beginning of your post if there’s mature content in order to keep Picture it & Write an engaging event for all of our followers.
I’m very sorry but in order to continue to help Ermisenda add new and engaging content consistently, I may be unable to reply to every contribution. This has become so popular that I’m just unable to keep up. Thank you for understanding.

My tears fall on the paper, but instead of dampening, it bursts into life. I see myself in the image, like looking at a reflection. The distortion is not made from ripples, but colors instead. My green eye looks back at me, fully decorated in makeup and colors I’m never bold enough to buy. It cries, reflecting my insides. The makeup runs down the paper in long streams and for a moment, I actually expect it to dye the table below. It is my mask. It is my reflection, but it is not one of me; it is the me I show the world.

That is an excellent piece you wrote Eliabeth! It really shows the power of artwork. Here’s mine http://joe2stories.wordpress.com/2013/06/16/picture-it-and-write-the-message/
Enjoy

Absolutely stunning. At first I thought it was taking a Hogwarts vibe because of the unmarked letter and we had to excommunicate someone in Marketing today for not having read the books. However, I liked where it went. Sometimes letting them be jumpy is good torture but clearly that’s not how this is going to work out.

I literally did this as I was waking up! I hadn’t even have my eyes open very long. Didn’t think my brain was going work properly. So when I saw the picture, it was easy to figure out what I was going to do. Most of the stuff in this entry is actually true. 🙂

My mom ran into a similar problem with an art teacher, no imagination. Beautiful artwork as well.

Don’t worry about visiting ours. It’s part of a series, so most people would probably be confused by it. Teammate Petra did a really good job with it, I thought. (I edited a little.)

Thank you, really sorry not to be able to read all of them anymore. Ashamed at how few I was able to read last time, but I’m hoping to read all of them at least sometimes. Thanks for posting for your teammate.

Sorry to not participate for so long, family issues kept me away. It felt good to get back and read some more stories. Here is mine and I will scurry off and read the others now. http://musingsfromtheturnippatch.wordpress.com/2013/06/17/1973/

Welcome! Fantastic contribution. I particularly liked the line, “obsessed, he painted madly as the orange sun crested the morning sky. “

You have a wonderful eye! The pictures you present can inspire even the most non-creative mind.

Thank you Glynis! We try really hard to pick engaging pictures. Sometimes it comes down to the wire before we schedule the post.

Hi,
I have broken the rule I am afraid on this weeks submission as it is non fiction writing. I hope you don’t mind too much – ..http://geminiwords.wordpress.com/2013/06/18/through-the-eyes-of-an-artist-picture-it-and-write/

Never really thought of it as a rule, just kinda how we originally pictured it. I’n excited to read your work, but I wanted to go ahead and say non-fiction is welcome too if that’s what you’re inspired to write.

Thanks you Emilia. I usually prefer to write non fiction, with a hint of truth, but this time I went full non fiction. I just love ‘Picture it and write’ and can’t wait for it to come out on Sunday’s! 🙂

Very pretty pictures you added at the end. I too wish I could have the eyes of an artist.
You’re welcome to write non-fiction. It’s always fascinating to see how differently the same picture inspires people. Thanks for being a contributor.

I thought the piece you wrote for it was very moving Eliabeth 🙂

I really like the idea of the art – dare I say – blooming from the tears. You never said the word, but you created it with burst to life and the colors… So much art truly does bloom from tears. I bounced around the artists page and was very impressed with some of the actual makeup she’s done. Wow!
Here’s Watercolors.
