Agree! I’ve found some very interesting things on book shelves. I raise an eyebrow at raunchy titles, snort when it’s obvious someone is trying too hard to make the right first impression. I thought you’d enjoy a peek at one of my book shelves.
When you walk into someone’s house, what’s the first thing you check out?

how clean or dirty it is. bad habit, yes i know
You’re not allowed to come over to my apartment then lol.
Art first because it’s more out in the open, books definitely, films also. Peace, xx
I always look, but I’m not sure judge is appropriate. I look at what’s hanging on the wall or art pieces displayed. Those things give you a sense of someone you don’t know well. At least, that has been my experience. Great question.
If there’s a bookshelf, I definitely check that out first π
1. Is there a book shelf ?
2. Can I borrow some titles ?
whether the room is neat or not , doesn’t matter much . I guess I have seen the worst and the best among my friends.
Haha I love the second question. Even though Kindle has gotten a lot of backlash from “true readers,” the guarantee that my book will eventually come back to me is much appreciated.
I like your book shelf. Lot of fantasy fiction & sci -fi I see + classics !
Thank you! I’m primarily a fantasy reader, but I enjoy a variety of other genres as well. My shelf was just too big to show them all with any detail. π
Hahaha, best way to judge people ever!!
Yes, I have to confess to judging people by their books. But worst of all is when there are no books at all. That’s a home/relationship I won’t stay in long!
:O No books? What a sad world that person must live in. I don’t think I could maintain that friendship long either; I talk about books too much.
You have a wonderful selection and taste in books. I do the same…I especially take note when their bookshelves consist of only two or three books. Snotty, right? Shamefully, yes, but what can I say? I’m an avid book lover. hehe
My boyfriend doesn’t understand my love for physical books, but they’re art! The covers are beautiful and express just as much about you as how you decide to decorate your home. That’s one of my two bookshelves and you only see maybe one third of my books. π I love reading *cuddles books*
Hehe I couldn’t agree more. My boyfriend has a smaller collection of physical books, but still loves to read. He has a Kindle, though, and is kind of obsessed with it. But, he wants to start collecting antique books. Perfect man? I think yes! (; I love to read too and am kind of lost with half of my collection still at my mom’s place…I’ve been in the process of moving. My biggest request was that she would bring my books for me so that my new place felt like home. hehe
I totally understand. I hope your move goes smoothly and you reunite your family of books soon. Great catch on the BF, don’t let him go.
Thanks! Trust me, I’m holding on as tightly as I can. (;
Did you see this floating around?
Can’t stop laughing!!!

Wow! Definitely will be pinning some of those. Thanks for sharing!
They are hilarious. Just thinking about them makes me laugh out loud!!! Glad you enjoyed!! Peace, xx
This depends entirely on whether they have a piano or not. I would say no, I don’t judge really. You know, people get rid of books, read from the library, or whatever. I have to admit though, I totally just judged William Randolph Hearst by his library!
I judge other people by my own bookshelves. π
“How does that work?” I hear you ask.
“Barely,” I reply.
Yup, I’ve done this. I’m a sad case though. I don’t really have a “book shelf” full of books. I have a shelf that has all of my stuffed animals (which covered the top and middle shelves) and on the last shelf is full of notebooks and folders. Is it sad that I want another shelf so I have an excuse to go to Barnes & Noble and buy books?
Its good to have good books to read but my shelves are so full out-of-this-world context. You would be puking on my rack, it is medically intricate and not at all fun. π
I have so many things – as well as books – on my bookshelves (and bookshelves all round the house) that I wrote myself an App to keep track of everything. Friends liked it so I published it as a real App.You might like to take a look?

nope, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, it’s what’s on the inside that counts,. just because I like horror doesn’t mean I’m creepy nor does liking classics show that a person is smart because they can be as dumb as rocks.
