I urge people to join in, comment with your paragraph of fiction to accompany the image. It doesn’t have to follow my story or reflect the same themes. It can be a poem or in a different language (provide a translation please ). Anyone who wants to join in, is welcome. This photograph will be reblogged under Ermisenda on tumblr and added to the Picture it & Write gallery on Facebook.
Every fortnight we hope to host a photograph suggested by contributors. So, keep those photograph recommendations coming. Submit your favourite images (with credit) for next week’s Picture it & write!
The sharp nail scraped my chin. It may as well have been a blade as the lethal, gritty edge punctured my skin. With my half closed and yet fluttering eyes, it was hard to see the person before me. I wanted to run but I needed the money. I needed to seal this deal. The darkness was thick and appeared to pulse rapidly, just like my wild heart. “Lavish in your newly acquired riches,” the gravelly voice spoke, from neither a man or woman but something much more hellish. “But the clock is ticking and I will collect.” The gnarled finger caressed my cheek and I shuddered.

Okay, here’s Starving.
The two voices worked so well together. Great work! I loved this part – ‘“Take me! Love me! Devour me!” he thought, trembling with the desire of her shadowy beauty.’ To devour someone… so powerful. Thanks for contributing this week, Annie. 🙂

The way that these three sentences run off each other are amazing – ‘My hunger abounds. My taste buds plump. My heart encourages.’ A fantastic touch. I loved the twist at the end. We have some great dark stories to accompany this dark image this week. Thanks for being a part of it!
