“Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles” – Charlie Chaplin

What I love about this quote is that it can be taken two ways. We can be upset about how nothing in our life, right now, will stay exactly the same as it is (those things that are positive). On the other hand we can be grateful that those things that are negative, our troubles, will soon change and hopefully for the better.

Holding onto that notion is important: we are ephermeral beings, we are mortal and we will one day be no more, just like those troubles we once had. This pushes us. It pushes me. We must live each day knowing that nothing is permanent, especially not our lives. Watch this great inspirational speech given by Steven Jobs, he explores this notion as well. Do you agree that nothing is permanent, whether it’s for better or for worse?
