Weeks ago, during a slow afternoon I was bored. I picked up my pencil and paper and began to draw. I wanted to draw, it was a sudden urge and I followed it. I tried to illustrate my interpretation of Odette. In reality she looks barely like the Odette I imagine but I did try. This inspired the talented Eliabeth to draw a photograph I took. Then we decided to start the Odette character gallery competition.
Click here for more details. I thought I would post my interpretation, pencil and paper as my medium, and remind anyone interested that the contest ends tomorrow (but the gallery is always open to submissions). Congratulations to all of those who have contributed amazing creations, we have been very impressed. For those who still wish to participate, happy art-ing!

I came across this image yesterday and immediately though of Odette. I thought I’d share it.
That looks like someone drew on their eyelids, but I can’t be sure. Very unnerving picture, thank you for sharing it!
it is. I am much too slow drawing to do something like this justice, but when I pictured how I would draw her, her blindfold matched the color of her skin with very realistic and unnerving eyes painted on. Except for some discolorations, you could barely tell she was wearing one.
We’re leaving the gallery open to submissions even after the contest. So if you’re ever in need of something to fill your time, I would love to see it; your interpretation is fascinating. We had a respectable turnout and we learned how to make the next one better, so thank you all for making this a successful learning opportunity.

I used to draw, you make me want to find my pencils and sketch pad 🙂 That’s so great you are leaving the gallery open, sounds like it was all great fun, too.
It’s so cathartic. I rarely draw but when I do I find it very enjoyable. It’d be lovely to see a contribution from you Aurora if you ever get the chance. 🙂
