Amy Boggs via Twitter: Psychopathic serial killers are horrifying in real life, not fiction. Understanding the villain makes them all the more terrifying.

I love that one of the agents I want to query said this.  Our villain for the Edaion series is far from psychopathic.  If anything, she is a normal person who is reacting a bit more forcefully than reasonable to circumstances beyond her control.  I hope that people will see some of themselves in this character.  Rather than give her name, because where would the fun be in that since you do not meet her in book one, we have nicknamed her NI for reasons I cannot disclose.  While certainly the villain, I would go so far as to suggest she is not evil.  Like a dog who bites because it is scared and cornered, she is not out to hurt people for the sake of hurting them, nor is she after power, money, or eternal life, not at first anyway, who knows where the story will take her in eight books.  What is she after?  Well, you are going to have to read the books to find out.
